After all the responses were analyzed, it was clear what the interviewees all agreed on: they did not like the rules or always seemed to be in trouble because the strict guidelines and their parents restricted their lifestyle. Responses also showed that when faced with difficulty they would give up because it was not worth trying.
When the majority of the teens interviewed responded they are in trouble a lot because they cannot do what they want, it was evident that nonchalance played a part in this. Nonchalance was also the result of failing numerous times because they did not want to stress themselves out over something they knew they could not accomplish. Also, getting in trouble for doing things they have already been reprimanded for in the past shows that they don’t care which was not surprising. From these interviews a final understanding could be gained: most teens view the average teenage lifestyle the same, but when their happiness is at stake they are faced with stressful tasks, they no longer care about consequences. They are willing to take the risk to be the happiest, stress-free person they can possibly be.
