Chilling with no worries is something that I do 24/7, but I wasn't always this way. My mentality about life changed when I entered high school. Entering high school, I was scared, young, and did not want to fail though I had to face reality some time. In grammar school, I didn't do so well, so when I came to Muchin College Prep I told myself, "This is your time to change your ways, and do better for yourself”. I listened to this advice for the first couple of months up until I had an exam in a class I knew I struggled in. In the beginning of the year I studied, paid attention in class, and I saw that I was getting good grades. This is when I started to slack off because I saw how good I was doing, and I told myself that I could keep this up without studying or anything. I was right too. I kept good grades without doing a thing, but when that final exam came, I knew I had to study. I studied long and hard that night and just knew that I was going to pass, but I was wrong.
The day of the exam, I walked in confident and ready, but this would all go away as the time ticked away. I got the test, read the first question, and I wanted to jump out the window. I didn't know the answer to that question, the next one, or the next one. This is when I gave up and accepted defeat. I failed the test that day, but this is when I came to a realization: I do better not caring about my grades, and just going with the flow than when I actually try to study to do better. I also realized that if you are chill at all times, you won't stress yourself out which will allow you to perform better than when you are stressed out.
From that day forward I have become a changed man. "Chill life is Will's life" as I like to call it. The less stress, the better you are at everything. This is why I am chill all the time. I know that if I get stressed out about something, I will not be able perform well. When I am relaxed, my mind can focus better. It took a school exam to change me and my whole perspective.
